You can now bring NCS colours from NCS+ directly into AutoCAD and Revit, with their NCS notations attached. This makes it easier to keep colour specifications consistent throughout a project, from colour selection and design to documentation and implementation.
Colour that reads the same everywhere
Previously, using an NCS colour in CAD or BIM often meant converting it to an RGB value and keeping track of the original NCS notation separately. The new NCS+ update enables you to take your exported colours directly into AutoCAD and Revit, accurately represented with their notations attached. This makes it easier for architects, designers, suppliers and contractors to work with the same colour reference throughout a project – from moodboard and drawing to materials, schedules and specifications.
NCS S 1050-Y40R is the same colour in a designer's mood board, in a coating manufacturer's lab, and on a contractor's pail – that's the point of a system. One shared colour language, from selection to final result.
How it works
Build your moodboard and select your colours in NCS+. When you're ready, export them using the Autodesk Color Book format. Your NCS colours can then be added to AutoCAD or Revit, with their notations intact and ready to use across materials, schedules and specifications. If your colour selection changes, simply update your moodboard in NCS+ and export the latest version.
Try it in NCS+
The new export is available now in NCS+. Open your moodboard, choose the Autodesk Color Book export, and copy the file to your Colour Palette folder for AutoCAD or Revit. A simpler way to move from colour selection to specification, while keeping NCS as the common colour reference throughout your project.
