This year, NCS Colour marks 80 years since its founding in 1945, with the vision to create a universal language for colour communication. Today, the Natural Colour System (NCS) is present in more than 90 markets and supports designers, manufacturers and the coatings industry worldwide in turning colour visions into reality.

To honour this milestone, NCS has launched the campaign Together in colour. The initiative highlights the value of colour and the close partnerships that have shaped NCS over the years, while also looking ahead to the future of colour. At its heart is a multi-part film series featuring leading partners, digital events, and a global community activation – all together celebrating colour’s impact across industries.

Together in colour launches in October – subscribe to our newsletters to be in the known.

Colour revival in Trend Retrospective

Since 2011, NCS has helped designers, brands and creatives stay ahead by providing an annual colour forecast together with international CMF experts. In celebration of NCS Colour's 80 year anniversary, we have revisited our archives to bring back past colour collections. Trends in colour continuously evolve, with certain palettes making a return over time – now all available in NCS+ through NCS Trend Retrospective.

Colour is our first impression of any item or space, and a great colour can make or break a design. The more accurately you can determine the correct colour, the more likely you are to succeed. Thanks to the colour language of NCS, every shade is precisely identified and archived. Explore the four distinct colour directions from each year in NCS+ today to rediscover the trends that have shaped design over time. Celebrate colour!
