Tarkett harnesses the power of colour to create inspiring and functional environments in healthcare, education and eldercare. To explore how colour becomes both a design and strategic tool, we met with Céline Gregoire, Communications Manager at Tarkett, and Marion Lamarque, designer and colour strategist. Together, they demonstrate how the NCS System and the NCS+ platform support Tarkett’s vision of colour as a driver of sustainability, functionality and inclusivity.

Tarkett on bridging the digital and physical worlds through identification in NCS+

Colour in the digital space

Tarkett is one of the first companies to join NCS+, making its materials an products digitally available to architects and designers. Their samples have been carefully measured and integrated into the platform, which allows professionals to explore authentic colours, build mood boards, calculate contrast and visualise entire projects in a digital workflow.

For Tarkett, colour is a foundation for creating environments that support human needs. For this approach, the team at Tarkett uses NCS+ as an essential guide for customers in segments such as education, healthcare and eldercare, ensuring that flooring solutions contribute not only to function but also to the quality of everyday life.

“NCS+, being such an interactive, easy-to-go, playful tool, is enabling us at Tarkett to also share the knowledge of NCS. This is also helping our customers navigate our range, our colours. And that’s really the added value of NCS+ – helping them mix our products with other materials, finding the right colour to match a wall or to match furniture."

– Celine Gregoire, EMEA B2B Communication Manager at Tarkett

A colour language with many nuances

Tarkett has worked with the NCS System for more than 25 years, integrating it across the entire process from design and production to customer communication. Céline views NCS as a precise code that enables Tarkett to collaborate with clarity and consistency. Marion uses the system to create balanced palettes and to align designers, marketers and architects around shared colour references. For both, NCS is the language that ensures colours are consistent, accurate and meaningful throughout every stage of the process.

"This is exactly the sort of tool I was looking for when I started my career."

– Marion Lamarque, Designer at Color the Life
